Let’s Get Real

Are You Trance-Human?

It’s hard to accept that we live in a world where men will choose to augment their bodies for advantage and even some who would choose to live in complete fantasy if given the choice.

How about us?

If we examine our lives, can we detect an element of “pretend?” Do we present ourselves as other than we are? It’s easy to take on a persona that isn’t our genuine person. The pace of our world seems to demand we operate on constant auto-pilot just in order to keep up — we move about the day nigh in a trance.

We don’t forget names and things because we’re just getting old, we forget because we never remembered. We failed to pay attention.

When we discard the pretense and just focus on serving others where the impact of touching another life is felt, all attraction to fantasy vanishes. I’ve not been consciously a hypocrite, yet I confess that I’m not “real” all the time, When I recognize those moments when I’m surrendered to serving, when the focus is off of me and on “them,” when I’m being genuine and sincere — it feels right… And there’s a good reason for that!
